I seem to remember a figure around about 225kg being mentioned in the past and also that it is heavier than the V8,

the 2.5 petrol ran from around 1985 to 94. It replaced the 2 1/4 when the 90/110 were introduced.

Not in Australia it didn't - the 2.25 (4 cylinder) and the 2.6 (6 cylinder) was replaced with the 3.5 V8 in civvy vehicles when they went from the 88/109 to the 110.

Different in UK and maybe NZ but not here.

They were 2 petrol engines, early in the game, the smaller one shared the 4 cylinder OHV layout of the diesel version, it was 2.3litre with five main bearings.

The other was he 3.5 V8. ( With the LT95 Same as the Perentie ( Sorry Thread now as Perentie in it )

Then the 2.5L Petrol came available in 1986, replacing the 2.3 unit.

Like Garry Said the smaller one not sold here, and I don't think the 2.5 was?

Gary did we get the 2.3L Diesel?

I am not sure what you mean by 2.3l diesel - while the actual capacity was 2286cc (i suppose you could call it a 2.3) it was termed a 2.25 the same as the petrol. In Aust the civvy series 3 we stayed with the 2.25 diesel and with the Series 3 Stage 1 went with the Isuzu 3.9 because Leyland Aust /JRA considered the Brit diesels were not suitable for Aussie use. Even with the introduction of new Brit 2.5 turbo diesel and 2.5 petrol engines (not good engines), the Isuzu 3.9 became the mainstream Aussie diesel until the 200TDi was released in the then new Defender and Discovery.  The exception being the Italian VM Motori 2.4 and 2.5 diesels in the RRC in the late 80s early 90s in Australia.

Hence why the Perentie got the 3.9 rather than the asthmatic Brit diesel.

Garry

Land rover called it a 2.3 Litre ( but yes it was 2,286cc )

So did AU not get the 110 with the 3.5V8 either as the early LT95 or the later LT85?

Yes the 110 had both the V8 and Isuzu 3.9.  At the start with the LT95 and then later the LT85 (both engines).  The 110 was called the County here as in the wagon version it came standard with the UK County Trim level.

Did we also get the 3.9 V8 110?  I take it we only got 110 SW? or did we get 110 V8 chassis cabs?

We never got the 3.9 V8 in the 110 - when they went to the defender name it was TDi only.  I cannot answer what other mid 80s 110 Landrovers were configured as - such as a ute and cab chassis but there was a isuzu 120 cab chassis.
