Ok, here's one for the mathematicians out there.
Standard GS, New xzl's, travelling at 100 kilometres per hour (actual), what is the RPM of the standard 4BD1 engine doing?
Also at 60kph (doesn't like growling at 60)

Pretty sure they are doing 2100 to 2200 rpm at 100. Sounds loud but low revs

Lots...............

Must surely be higher than 2100 @ 100kph ... my point being that they are governed to 3200 +70/-50rpm, giving a theoretical maximum top speed on the 2100/100kph figure of ~155kph.  My 4x4 is really lucky to get to 127kph, downhill with a good tailwind ... three choices here.
ie: either the 2100/100 figure is wrong, or my injection pump sux, or both!
Maybe someone can enlighten me please.

Cheers,  Daryl.

Top speed in most Landys (and probably vehicles in general) is where engine output matches parasitic driveline losses + aerodynamic drag, rather than running out of gear. Since the OP asked for the mathematical solution, it's around 2321 RPM depending on the exact XZL diameter. 60 km/h - 1393 RPM in 4th, 2103 in 3rd.

Confirming XZLs are 255/100 x 16, direct drive 4th gear and 3.54 diffs, then I get 100kph at 2050.1 RPM.  ;)

Thx Brian ,,,, you have a maxi locker.  ;D
On the figures from that pic, max theoretical is ~136kph.   Makes me feel better about where mine's at.
