HI Tommy,

Yes I agree we could ask for the information off him, I know him well enough to ask may Mick_Marsh and myself could work on this "project" if the Gentleman approves.

As far as "saving" them he finds it quite insulting to be told what to do. As I've said previously he bought them at auction, they're his and he can and will do what he wants with them. What he wants is to have them around him and to live with them just as they are! quite eccentric but that's it.

The 2A camo one is unique, ut it's not the only unique one in his collection, there is also a workshop trailer that goes with it. I have added some photos as I don't think they give away any private information.

I have permission to take these photos and share them from him.
Cheers
Scott

Good one Tommy.

This is what I think it will take:
Buy a property with a big shed. I've found one suitable. $330,000 plus GST.
Put a caretakers residence on it. You can get ones suitable from a shed builder. Probably $100,000.
Then invite the fellow to look after your shed and he can put his treasures in it. I reckon he might take the offer with a little convincing from one or two people.
Any offers in coughing up the dosh? I'm working towards it.

I can take the photo's. He has invited me to do this.
I just need the motivation.

G'day Mick

I'm not sure if your comments are of an insulting or sarcastic nature :-\ . I would like to think they are of the latter :)
Be sure they are neither insulting nor sarcastic.
The saving or preservation of these vehicles have been much on my mind over the past twenty plus years.
There is much I would like to do to help the fellow as I'm sure you would. Unfortunately with these sort of people ( and I think I may be one of these types ) they're hard to help. A softly, softly approach must be used to gain trust and copious quantities of cash must be used for the solution.
I'm busily trying to gain a home for my fleet. It's not easy. Especially with many people in my industry being laid off.
Oh, to win Tattslotto.

Actually personally I would say that is over stepping the mark.

Who are we to tell another person what do to with his property.  Property that he legally obtained, and is within his rights to do with whatever he pleases.  The vehicles were all sold at public auction, the public had it's chance. If he wants to crsh them and set them on fire, he can. if he wants them as they are, he can.  If he wants to give them away, he can.  If he wants to sell them, he can.

Yes, I agree that I wish they were being preserved, but we can't save them all.

Scott's softly softly approach. I think that was mine. I'm going off to sulk now.

Diana, I'm finding my collection growing without shed space, and indeed without parking space.
It's good I have understanding friends, mostly.

Don't I know about that one!

Currently I have vehicles at my house, in Cookey's shed, at Fred's factory and down on the farm!  Now Fred's retiring and selling the factory so Cookey is about to get a whole Defender in bits.  :o  (Don't tell him)

Diana

Do you mean Fred Smith the land Rover guru in Bayswater, Melb.???, if so that would be a great clearing sale, there's stuff stucked to the rafters!

Regards
Scott
