I heard if three that were in a car yard on the corner of a major road in the north of Adelaide. One night, a truck missed the red light and ended up running into the car yard cleaning up all three Perenties. It wouldn't surprise me if that was one of them.

that answers my thoughts on such a heavy impact.  take a thump to do that damage.
initially I thought about the people in it.  Let's hope that's the case.

It appears to be a thump from the side and looks as if it was pushed in on the other side as it hit the Perentie beside it.
Fits in to as it was explained to me.
