« on: May 08, 2015, 05:44:24 PM »
The Bi-Annual Bundaberg Swim-In is on again.

A few of us are going up, 2x 101's, Pinzgauer, Series 2a/Gunbuggy (not sure what Glen is taking), Workshop, Perentie and several others and those who's Military Vehicles aren't up for the trip though will be driving Land Rovers :)

If you happen to be there stop and say hi.  We will be in the Camo 101 :)

Hi,

The MJCQ has had many inquiries about the Bundaberg weekend.

A club member has provided his private property for the use of MJCQ members for the weekend. The weekend is not a public event. Due to the number of members attending the weekend and other reasons the event is restricted to MJCQ club members and their families.

Any non-members wishing to attend are welcome and encouraged to join the MJCQ prior to the event. Membership forms and details are on the club website or details and payment can be taken over the telephone by contacting the secretary.

Club membership is $60 per financial year which still makes it a cheap camp weekend even if this is the only event that you attend, you will then get the MJCQ magazine and other benefits of the club for free!!

Please call if you have any questions. Ph 0412071422

Thanks
Darren

And Darren, an important subject to be remembered for an event such as this is that Attendee Members are afforded the benefit of the MJCQ Insurance Policy as in any other Club event.
As discussed at the MJCQ meeting last night an important incentive.

Hello All,

Is there any chance of getting the Subject Line of this thread changed to the correct date for this year's event?

I had a look at the date last Sunday and I kicked myself for not writing the date down and I thought I missed it. Then today some messages came up about planning for the event  :o

So I checked back on a message that Mrs HH sent from AULRO and found the link that says Bundaberg Swim-in

When: June 5-8, 2015

I am definitely writing the date down on the calendar this time  :).

Does membership of REMLR cover you for the event or does it involve becoming a member of MJCQ?

Kind Regards
Lionel

Can someone explain why the event is called a 'swim-in'? ??? I presume there will be a couple of amphibious vehicles there but the majority will be 'land based' MVs. Never really understood why the emphasis is on the minority amphibious vehicles.

The property does border on the river and they have a private ramp into the water.  The owners do have an operational Buffalo, a DUKW and a GPA and the event is held on the alternate years to the Corowa Swim-in.  My best guess anyway  :)

Hi pop058,
Just a correction, the Corowa Swim-In is held every year, this year was the 36th in succession. I assume you meant that Bundaberg event is every other year?
