If you mean bartreads, then that is true, if you mean the olympic steeltreks fitted to the 110, then you can still buy them new last time I checked.

Hi there

don't mean to hijack the thread but has anyone got any feed back on the bar-tread tyres:

What are they like as I am considering putting a set on the fire tender but the vehicle is top heavy and cautious, has anyone got pictures fitted to there ex military series........

Hi Wayne,

the attached photo is Firestone ND bar treads on my shorty, they are Firestone and made in USA so very good quality, the lugs are slightly bigger than Olympic trojans but not really obvious. the usualy problems with grip and breaking with all bar treads

I'd buy them again no worries.

Steve01, do you mean the firestone NDT or the Olympic Steeltrek?  the firestone is posted above this post.  the Steeltrek you just used to ask at any olympic dealer.  However 2nd hand ones do come up from time to time at auctions like this one, but condition of them vary http://www.manheim.com.au/trucks-machinery/item/itemunavailable?itemID=000000000004072181

Hi steve01
I would not use the steel treks as a tyre they are not very good they suffer from a few problems that is why defence went away from them and used the michelins which are a far better tyre.

I am trying to buy Michelin XZY in Perth. Not a common tyre. Could be a problem in the future, and may have to opt for somthing else. Anybody afford some advice, because of where we take our Perenties tyre damage is common. Thanks Johno

From my own observations I've seen Michelin 4X4s on vehicles and
Olympic SteelTreks on the No.5 Trailers. (probably to use up stocks)

Can't remember seeing Michelin ZXLs.  Other members may have seen them.

Would go back at least five years plus.
