At the November 1974 auction at Anzac Ave Morebank, near Bankstown in Sydney, there were about six or eight Staghounds, the first was put up and bidding stopped at $600,and it was passed in.The auctioneer moved on to the next, but an army wallah, stepped in front of him and yelled out"They are not to be sold unless a better price is bid,and they wont be seen again. We will use them as targets"No better bid was forthcoming and that was that.At the same sale a Diamond T 980,and a Federal 604,both in perfect condition, went for $2400 and $1800 resp.We bought Mack NMs for $800 each.Regards John.
