Ooooh that's some pre planning....time and date shouldn't be a problem.....although I'm going to need two weeks off work.

Any chance of a scout flight through the reverse of where I just came. Chesthunt (9am rendevouz, 9:30am depart) razorback, pineapple gap (camp over), Craig's hut (photoshoot/lunch), Mt Stirling down to Mansfield (coffee and cake) then either go our seperate ways or extra day.

Three inters would be nice as a minimum, maybe scrounge a period series as a lead flight.

But I'm liking your Corowa Swim in if everybodys comfortable with a potential bit of panel damage prior to a display?

Hi boys,

You can count me in for that absolutely - I'll need to submit leave dates and I'm there. So planning wise we arrive Corowa say Tuesday / Wednesday ? Gives us plenty of time to make and mend and enjoy the event.

Would be a great time.  I reckon we start planning.

Mick

It would be a great trip to do on the way to Corowa - I'd like to put my name down.

Exactly what trip route, do people want to do. Mansfield, mt Stirling, pineapple flat, razorback Cheshunt, wangaratta Corowa?

Or an as yet unidentified route into the Wonnangatta?

And it appears as we will do it going to Corowa for the swim in as a tentative date.

Maybe even get a chance couple of trips in over the year.

Hey Kaneya,

Spoke to another member of the VMVC who is currently finishing his restoration of a MKIII and is interested in the expedition. We might have quite a crew on this adventure :-)

Cheers,

Mick

This sounds like a Great Idea. I would like to offer to make a wiki travel page using the photos if its ok, and use your descriptions that you wrote when you posted them. Not much to it but it would be good to properly archive the start of this idea because I have a feeling this will get to a regular event.

Is it easy to find pictures showing the truck's restoration?

I am off work tomorrow if you want I can do it then.

cheers
RC

Sounds like this little giggle is taking legs. I have no idea what a wiki thingy is Carzee.
I know about wiki camps, used it when we went to Darwin.

Mick an additonal truck is awesome, sorry I haven't had email for some time, just checked my iPhone and it popped up.

Hi Kaneya,

Mate we might have a transport platoon by the time comes :-)

Should be a great trip. As far a route goes I'm open to any ideas as I'm sure you know the terrain better than I do.

Cheers,

Mick

I just looked around on google maps and then got this one off the govt. Which track leads off to Chesthunt?

It's not shown on that map. At the top in the middle is pineapple flat. It heads north from that point. I'll get a screen shot of my mud maps and put it up.

Carzee, don't know what you did, but the link went to a great page of which I appear to be a star.
Really well done, thank you.

Trip distance from Pineapple flat to Cheshunt is approximately 45kms

Cheers

Do we have an itinerary for this trip yet, the buyer of my old Mk3 is also keen to be involved.
