As always when an event comes along, you have to check that all vehicles are running as good as is possible, but something always gets in the way, the Workshop L/R fitted with a Zenith carb didn't want to play the game last weekend, so today I revisited the carburetor issue on my S2A 109 Lightweight Workshop vehicle, I have to have it running properly before the 25th of April (Anzac day) this time it wouldn't run at all, so I suspected the ball was stuck under the petrol pump as I couldn't see fuel being sprayed down the throat when the throttle was opened, so off it came
it was piddling rain this morning so the job had to be done in the shed, as the Land Rover has way too much canvas on it.
The carburetor was dismantled, then out with my small surface plate to rub down all the mating surfaces so that they are relatively flat
I suppose a few of us have been down this road before, all sprayed with carb/cleaner, email sent to Nick @ Blanchards for replacement gaskets etc , now I just have to wait approx. 1 week for the bits to arrive, cheers Dennis
psw the ball under the pet/pump was stuck, the pet/pump came out with no fuss either, which is unusual,,.
