10 KVa Volkswagen Generators
« on: February 24, 2015, 08:11:05 PM »
Is there an enthusiast out there who has preserved one of these beasts? I had a lot to do with two of them on an exercise in PNG.
Geoff.

I have one out at Leppington its a 110V/240V unit and also have the platform for 2 sitting on my MGB trailer.

I can acquire another if I'm keen!  8)

A moment of madness.

I thought I'd set up a modern era camp diorama with army tents, trucks, landies, a couple of antenna masts and generator power, but now that we've lost the Airport at Corowa there's nowhere to do that sort of thing. Far too little space at Ball Park

Warwick Lord (Salt Ash) had quite a few of these a few years ago, I know of a couple that are on stand-by gen/sets in the Clarencetown area of NSW, they were not cheap @ $2,500.00+ ea, cheers Dennis

I was only wondering if there were any around. I had enough to do with them that if I wanted a generator I would not buy one of them.
