Wanted: Aust No.3 or No.4 Jeep trailer chassis/axle/wheels etc.
« on: February 23, 2015, 08:40:43 PM »
My neice and her husband have a 67 acre bush block near Colac in Victoria and I recently gave them a recently re-barrelled Furphy tank with 1942 castings of the end plates.  They want to use it for a fire trailer so I'd like to fit it onto an appropriate era trailer.

A No.4 would be ideal.  It doesn't need to have a body, but the mudguards would be good although not essential.

I have a number three that I would swap for a 11 x 11 tent

:(
Thanks Phil

Unfortunately all those are US Bantam* Jeep trailers, I wouldn't dare put an Aussie icon Furphy of Shepparton tank on one of those.

You can tell the Bantam by the round mudguards and the brakes.

Very much a "fixer-upper", but this may suit your needs:

Has prospects, but the ID plate is missing (fixed to the tailgate) and needs a couple of chassis repairs plus a new coupling.   :)

Will think about it.
