« on: February 23, 2015, 04:32:48 PM »
Hi can anyone help with a paint issue
I painted my seat box with 4L  342-1166 camouflage green lustreless mixed with thinners
and it looks very glossy ,
but when i painted smaller parts with the 400g paint tins 342-1166-23
its flat
can anyone tell me were i screwed up on my mixing or thinners

Thanks
Jason

The product info sheet says that you will get a gloss coat if you put it on thick, something to do with the way it sets or hardens, and the thicker coat takes longer and so appears glossy.
The actual wording on the last page is "Avoid heavy coats as this will result in high gloss levels."
Another possibility is that the tech sheet says to thin and clean up with turps, not thinners.
Maximum thinning is 15% turps.
