S2 Command Reconn 'in service' Gold Coast beach patrol
« on: February 23, 2015, 10:51:25 AM »
Turned up this old photo in the archives.
A Series 2 Command Reconn that has been purchased from an army sale and repainted. At first I thought Vung Tau. 1971.

Great Picture.

Bit different to the Japanese 4x4 they have now.

Good day,
The series 2 has a 1967 (approx.) Qld registration number.

Good photo though. Thanks

It also looks like it has a S1 roof stuck on.  Notice how the corners overhang the side of the screen.

Would the wheel rims have been sourced from a Rover car?

I'm reasonably certain the PCD of the Rover car wheel is vastly different from the Land Rover, they look like the widened 15" 48/215 or FJ Holden rims which shared the same PCD ( the memory is getting thin, though LOL) cheers Dennis ::)
