48 367 and 48 964
« on: February 06, 2015, 11:01:52 AM »
48 367 personnel carrier now resides in Kalgoorlie. Its condition is exceptional  and appears after going over the WA pits that it has only traveled 37,000k's including the 4000+ I drove last week. A service and a couple of minor items is all that is required to get it to an excellent standard.

Hi Brian. No other member has done the incredible Km of travel you have getting your collection home. Your list of ARNs in your sig line is very impressive. A good youtube walk-around of the collection would be a treat, especially the fittings and details of 48-367. I thought I had an old in service pic, but when I looked at the files was 48-368 :( at Lone Pine RAINF Training Ctr.

Better crank up the gopro. I've clocked up around 50,000k's in the last 18 months including 8000 behind the Perentie steering wheels. Very enjoyable. I've done 15000 in 48964 since purchasing a little over a year ago

I don't know for sure but its got to be possible to get extra slant on the driver seat backrest on a wagon (the backrest seems to be restricted on my FFR -If I shift the seat toward the str wheel to achieve more backrest angle then the leg space is a bit short).

The front seats lay back until they touch the rear seat on the wagon.

Lay back seats.. of course. I imagine they come in handy for catching Zs on those long drives. You'd need a few rests; with that many Kms you would be lucky to avoid hitting a Roo or something larger. Camels?

Top photo of 48964. Looks like the clearing is just a rock.

About 9 -10 k's per litre coming across from Sydney. When I drove the wagon over I had a Ford flathead V8 in it It didn't seem to affect the fuel fuel economy as long as I sat around 95. Above that I dropped to 8kpl

Have to tarp it now when I'm away to stop it fading to quickly.
