Great information Scott.

All the Topo mods should be photographed in detail, documented and placed on the REMLR website for future reference.

It appears the the Topos used the FFT/FFW jerry can holders which sit higher then the standard cookie cutters. This necessitated the recessing of the tail lights to allow the mounting of jerry cans. Why they didn't mount the holders lower is a mystery as it would have been a lot easier than cutting the bodywork and recessing the tail lights.

I believe part of the reason for the recessed taillights, like many of the other mods, as to minimise the damage to the vehicles while pushing through virgin scrub, less to catch on etc.

does any one know what the ces for this vehicle contained ie dimmensions for worktable and other ancillary items including specific items unique to this vehicle.

Unfortunately we do not know the CES for the Topo survey, only what we can discern from photos.

Recessed lights were to enable jerry cans to fit in the holders on the rear as per LRPV, at least thats what I understand. Even with the lights set horizontally like the series 3 the protective surround would still clash with the top of the jerry can

There was one of these being wrecked in Adelaide about 20 years ago, and I managed to get the data plates off it, but someone nicked em!! I seem to remember the glass in one or some of the windows was armoured, always wondered why, but never found out. Unfortunately it was before  I started photographing everything I saw!!!!!

As requested, here are my photos of 114 102, taken late last year at Toolern Vale, part of Ian's collection.

Apologies for the quality, they were taken on my phone as the sun was setting!
