Truck Wrecker F5 Twin Boom 1970 Body Number 3188
« on: January 12, 2015, 02:24:06 PM »
I'm selling my Wrecker (or trying To again) I have advertised her on eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EX-ARMY-ACCO-1970-Truck-Wrecker-5-ton-GS-With-Winch-Twin-Boom-Holmes-/111572192697?ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:AU:1123)and elsewhere but will sell her regardless even  if I have to sell as bits she has to go. Photos are on eBay.

This  F5 Wrecker has been my pet project for the last few years. I really like the old girl but I have run out of spare time due to my work commitments. I have spent a small fortune on her up to now.

The F5 had a much higher payload then the Smaller Mk.3 and 4 coming in with a 5 ton payload. It's off road capability was incredible. Anyone who knows will understand that the F5 was fitted with the class leading Holmes Twin Boom recovery unit and was second to none in capability and flexibility of task applicability. It was used by specialist Recovery Mechanics usually in a dedicated workshop environment and looked after by a team of RAEME trade qualified mechanics, serviced and cleaned more than most other vehicles.

I have had her mechanically serviced and the motor runs great, the brakes have been done and so has the Clutch master Cylinder although it does stick if I don't drive her on a regular basis (Just a bleed is required) The seats have been professionally recovered and I have just had the externals blasted and undercoated in preparation for a new paint job, (I have the correct Military Paint) Tyres are in great condition and she drives well for her age. I know the History of her and where she served. I have included a couple of photos prior to the blasting as well as the current condition in undercoat. I have the bits and pieces that have been removed for the blasting they will go with the sale. As with all trucks of this age it does have some rust in the cab and I have posted the photos for info,

Give me a call for any info (Barry 0417 100048) I have lots of OEM parts and also much of the equipment and tool boxes that complete the wrecker that I am prepared to negotiate a price if the purchaser is interested.
