G'day all,
I was aware that 48-666 required a new pitman arm joint, so I was used to the feeling of slightly wobbly steering, however yesterday I was driving and suddenly the steering became very difficult around a roundabout, then with a snap, became normal again, so I very gingerly drove home avoiding any sharp bends.
Today I diagnosed the problem whilst in the process of replacing the pitman arm joint, and I was very surprised with the cause of the steering scare.

The wires on my intake hose had torn through the pipe due to rubbing on the steering column, and had wrapped around the column, causing it to rip in half, and in turn the wires wrapped around the column were causing the steering issues. Interesting to see if this has happened to anyone else.
Cheers,
Ned
