Probably Australia’s most famous Army Land Rover.




Haven’t seen it mentioned in the registrar on REMLR but nonetheless it is/was a genuine army Land Rover owned and run by the Australian Defence Force.

I believe I have at least 4 videos of this going to summernats yearly, spending 30+ minutes 'revving' the crowd up before coming out onto the pad, blowing a (patrol) diff within 30 seconds and wandering off...

The airbrushing on the bonnet is perfect.

2006 - original paintwork, gold 'army' on chromed bar, wood deck, custom airbrushed bonnet that doesnt fit.. (no hole) and cut bonnet that does






This ARN 202-301 does not appear in our records..?


2007 - full gloss desert cam respray, less bling, no 'army' on bar (painted now), wood deck still


2008 - full gloss arctic cam respray, airbrushed doors, bar goes chrome again, square scoop replaced with bug-eye scoop, name disappears from windscreen & appears on bar, wood deck gone replaced with checkerplate



2009


2010 - last burnout before retiring from burning out, as project digger takes over



2012 - only showpony now, project digger chews less diffs ahha

many of the ARN's in the database for the perenties came from a paper copy of a microfiche document showing the perentie vehicles.  However it was created before the Bushranger builds, so bushranger vehicles (ARN 202+ normally) were not in the listing, so the first we know of many is when they come up for auction or we find a photo.

Thanks for the video, I will save that off for reference.  Looks like it was a UNAMSET vehicle (if that is the right abbreviation) from the stencil on the side.

A suggestion of another well known Army Land Rover is RAEMUS Rover from the 70's and 80's. We have refurbished the car and now race it as a challenge activity for Mates4Mates.

Photobucket decided to do a money grab and anyone who used their services to host photos and use them in other forums are being blackmailed to pay $400 a year to get them back.

There is a workaround though, and it seems to be working.
