6 wd transfer selector arm removal
« on: November 14, 2014, 04:04:10 PM »
Hi All

I have an oil leak from the 6wd drive selecter lever on the transfer case.

I have been told that it is a common problem with  the O ring.

I have been tring to get the selector arm off by knocking out the roll pin which holds it on.

No matter which way I try to knock it out ( which is no simple task in itself)it will not budge, can anyone tell me if the roll pin is tapered or am I missing something or has it just seized into place these past 20 years.

Regards Gary M

Roll pin is cylindrical, not tapered. 4.5mm x 26mm.

O-ring is 14.6mm I.D., 2.4mm thick.

The vacuum actuator is the same part number as the LT95 CDL so should be available if required, it is not a 6x6 specific unobtainium part.

Hi Gunner 303

Cheers for the diagram, at least it shows the roll pin is not tapered.
I was beginning to wonder as you can only beat the crap out of something for so long before you start wondering that you might be missing something.
Looks like I will have to use a bigger hammer.
Once again many thanks, this is a huge help.
