We were warned by the OC about individual legal action if we conducted unauthorised digging of any kind, especially hootchie drains. Sandbags were okay however, on a temporary basis. Unilateral military disturbance of the environment, without permission from, or reference to, the appropriate environmental stakeholders, could lead to erosion during rainfall and upset the local catchment with sediment and runoff. Uh huh. Digs can get prosecuted for digging.
