I know that the use (or not use) of search comes up a lot on AULRO just take a few minutes and think about what you want to know or in many cases here just follow the headings on the home page and that will take to the section you want with not just the answer for the current question but probably the next one you haven't thought of yet  :D if you take the time to read all the threads about the type of truck you have or want you only have to absorb 10% of what you read and you will be an expert ;D

That young bloke is only three years younger then me, and I find him annoying enough. Although I may have asked some dumb questions in the past, I sure as hell go to the effort of researching it thoroughly first. What I have learnt I am passing onto others and keeping a record of for future reference.

As for being a troll, well...

Apologies for derailing the thread a bit, but it has to be pointed out.

He certainly is not a troll but I think just too lazy to search the internet for the information he wants and finds it easier to just as here, AULRO, 4wd Action and I guess other forums I have not been too.  Also after being given answers asks the same questions again rather than researching a bit more.

I think we have all be guilty a bit of taking the easy way out and just asking on the forums but not to this extent and over so many forums.

OMG! We're all sounding like old farts.
He's young and knows nothing. Let's give him a little latitude. I'm sure he'll come up to speed soon.

Oh, and from what I have read so far, he hasn't whinged or dumped on anything or anyone.

I used to be one of the youngest blokes on REMLR when I first became involved with it (I was about 19 I think) and look where I ended up 14 years later ::) :o

He has been asking the same questions and getting the same answers for over 6 months - if he is not up to speed now he is never going to be.

The issue is not the questions being asked but the constant repetition of the same questions over a long period of over a number of forums.

It gets very frustrating when people do take the time to answer his valid questions to the best of their ability, for the same questions to pop up time and time again after they have been answered.

I guess I am a silly old fart  8)

Yes, he will eventually settle down, new (old stock vehicle)and a new toy for him,we all went through that at one time or another,I know I was wound up when I bought my bent and battered 2a GS 172-484 in 1986  :(  but 6yrs of totally stripping down and straightening the chassis and repairing the rust, rebuilding the motor etc.it was registered and then myself and a couple of friends started "The Registry of Ex-Military Land Rovers"  ;D

I think Carzee can remember back that far  ;)

cheers

Gee! Ross, don't remind me of those horrendous long distance telephone calls  ::)

As for 4x4 MORE,he is in NSW I think, going by places and tracks he is going to go on,seems he is NPWS,the other person,LandyFan, I noted has a location of Samford in Qld,so they are different people,I might be able to suggest for him to go down to the Military Jeep Club Swap at Canungra Showgrounds on 17-19th October :) All welcome to that  :D

Early in this thread there was mention of (Command)FFR 48-002, I think that one is in Bandi Museum, as Ellard has the other Command FFR,48-003  ;)

cheers

You want to double check that?

Like garrycol, I've seen enough of his posts and PMs on other forums (I think at least 5 I know of), plus Facebook pages, to know that he won't be "getting up to speed" for a while yet.

If we are talking about Command Post FFR AFAIK there were only two in the initial production vehicles, Ellard's and Engineering No3 which was retained by Jaguar Rover Australia in the Moorebank factory.

48-002 is now a RFSV, and in fact was one of the prototypes for them along with 003.  Yet to be seen sold.

Did you actually read the information in the brochure before your first troll post on yet another forum?

The angles are listed unladen for some vehicles and laden for others, and the various vehicles have differing laden and unladen weights (also for front and rear axles), while some have winches and others don't.

I have had a good read through it, thanks very much mate

I apologize!
