Maybe the RAAF is smarter than the Army and not going to change to the G-Wagen :)

16AD is Army, not RAAF.
I wonder why they would require such vehicles?

So they can rush in with maximum noise, brass anything visible with as many calibres as possible and get back to the gym post haste...

I would have thought they protected assets in a known area, not go out and search.

We have a few photos of these.  RAAF Airfield Defence Guards (ADG) had some which were called Quick Response Vehicles and it was a modification they kinda came up with on their own accord, however when unauthorised mods were cracked down on they were reverted to normal vehicles and they were given RFSV's to use in place of them.    Some may have been scrapped, not 100% sure. I really need to do a page of information about them up to put on the website as they certainly were an interesting looking model.

The Air Defence variant is a 6x6 for towing ground to air missile systems and associated equipment

correct phoenix adg at amb  did modify 110 as quick reaction vehicles (qrf) as vehicle were returned for rebuilds in early 2000s ie responsibility change all green veh became responsibility  of the army the af vehicles had to comply with army instructions
