« on: August 31, 2014, 10:27:18 PM »
Just looking at the 1989 sale catalogue and come across four 1965 and one 1966 model F1s in the sale. None show on the ARN database for those years . the 66 model is ENG. NO.628211221
1/9 Just adding that it was listed with 52,445 klm.  It sold for $6000

The trials of the 6X6 happened in 1964 see: http://remlr.com/Army-Inter/6tropicaltrials.html and the contract for the F1 was signed in 1966 although delivery commenced in 1967.

Perhaps the auction was listing the date on the contract rather that the manufacture/delivery. http://remlr.com/Army-Inter/accoarn.html Same as the Command recon where people think they are 1958 2 litre models where they are 1959 by the chassis no.

If you look at ARN171-561 it is a 1967 - F1 with a 6.282 engine lower than the one supposedly built in 1966.:   6221 Truck, Cargo, 5 Ton, GS, With Winch 6.282.9259 1751

Perhaps the engine was a crated service replacement

Anything is possible, I assume International  probably built some in 1965 /66 to set up the production process, chassis numbers will be interesting if any turn up.
Dept of Admin Services (DAS) who ran the disposal process, used the info supplied by the army on the transfer documentation to describe them back then.
Could have been a rebuild crated motor, I bought a few of them that year.
