Hi ever body a update on the Capstan winch the ones the fitted to the Army ser two's Ser's two A are Aeroparts not Fairey . Correct me if I am wrong but I check for parts and we found out that one fitted to my Ambulance is a Aeropart capstan Winch and the drive parts are not interchangeable.

Fairey capstan winches are very late production, originally they were "Mayflower Auto Parts" (MAP) capstans and they were a rare sight before SIII and mostly seen on Range Rovers.
The Aeroparts type were fitted to Land Rover from around 1950 and into SIIa. Yes you will see them on 1948 models and even see them on the original brochure, but they only became available as an option later and were retrofitted to 1948 and 1949 models. In fact they have to be modified to fit an early 80".
