G'day Folks  :)

If the body is removable I would suggest that the Chassis Number would be under there, as on some of the No5's, so that is where I would look, and then restamp the No in a place that Civilian Transport Dept's can see it, a complete and exact copy. or you could end up with one of those 18 digit specials and it listed as "Homebuilt" >:(

cheers

BTW those brake shoes look very similar to common cars rear drum brakes, find the earliest date of manufacture of the trailers, and then X reference the shoes to common car/utility rear shoes. or Caravan builders.  the AYG 8108 is a Series 3 wheel part No possibly a 6.00 x16 but was interchangable with Perenties. check by looking in the centre interior of the wheel where it is rivited.

cheers

That trailer does look in good condition.
The brake cylinder is mounted well back. I suspect it was not manufactured by Crump & Cornish. Could possibly be made by Haulmark. Is there a manufacturers data plate on it?
I can't see the hand brake lever. Is it there? I see it now. The photo is a little fuzzy.

Hi mick. Wondering if you can take a few more photos of your trailer brake shoe showing the bottom part (under axle) where the shoes hinge from? Much appreciated. Dan.

Hi Mick. Much appreciated. I have asked the guys at Stop Master in Brendale, Brisbane to do some investigating. Was put onto them buy a guy at Haulmark in Rocklea, Brisbane who seemed to know a thing or 2 about the trailers. A step closer to having trailer brakes!

Here we go, it is Crump & Cornish. I had the plate taped over as i re-painted the draw bar. Was staring me in the face all along. Haha.

G'day Folks  :)

Ya know, those shoes look very similar to those fitted to VB-VH Commodores, so I would be checking out wreckers, scrappies, and farm yards for a couple to try out, just check the diameter of the drum,as it looks about the same as that on a SWB series2/2a 10"(inch)250mm give or take a few MM for wear,I can't remember the dia of the rear drums of our old VH wagon.

cheers
