« on: July 19, 2014, 12:03:43 AM »
Hello all, can anyone please supply two of these plugs? They fit the female outlets on the FFR distribution box.

If so, please send photos.

many thanks, Daryl

Have you read this ?

I got mine off ebay .........(take care with the description - there's an immense variety of cannon plugs)

Unless you particularly want to use those outlets, if it's for a fridge it could be more practical to extend the 24v supply to an engel outlet. If you do this you can incorporate appropriate fuse/cb protection.

Hi,

got a couple from connector tech -als in Queensland

Reasonable price and new.

There are some others out there that look correct but a a few millimetres different in size so check the number.

What I'd like to do is run all my 3 acc's through the box. I've mounted the UHF on the rear of the middle seat back and powered it directly from a bus bar in the box utilising its inline fuse, however I'd like to run the fridge and HF through the existing circuitry if possible. My initial (and preferred)  thoughts were to use the outlets, I've discovered that these are supplied via the 100 amp circuit breaker but this is way too large to protect these devices so I'd need some other form of fusing. Another alternative is to use the circuitry running through the fuses on the top panel, replacing these with lesser rated ones or (it's just occurred to me) to simply fuse the feed to the box with a 20/30 amp fuse and leave the OEM fuses in the box alone.

My aim is to adapt the box to my needs in a practical. sympathetic and reversible way. Electrics are a bit of a 'black art' to me so I'd welcome any input from more knowledgeable members

cheers, Daryl

Hi,
How are you dropping the 24V supply ( approx 27.6V from a pair of fully charged batteries) to the 13.8 V required for most auto accessories, or are all your extras rated at 24V?
I see that the larger engels will run off 24V (not like my older engel).
There are 24v to 12v converters around but I am guessing you would want about 20 Amps for a100W HF radio.
It will definitely "look" better if you can feed them from the dist box sockets.

Another possibility if you want 12v at only a few amps is to rewire the small socket on the dist box to run off one of the 12v batteries.

Have you seen the wiring diagrams on the REMLR web site?

Regards
Peter

Gedday Peter

The truck is only running 12v these days, I have a pair of 12v batteries but in parallel only. My theme for the truck is a sympathetic restoration adapted to civil use.

No I haven't seen the REMLR wiring diagrams yet, I thought there may be some but hadn't got around to it.

cheers, Daryl
