http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Land-Rover-Swb-Army-1965-/161941454214?

is this a real one?

Civilian rear cross member,  Doesn't look like it ever had any TAC sign holders on the rear tub, later type indicators / parking lights on the front wings, and a civilian bonnet release? :-X

VicRoads has the chassis number as 24309319B, which I couldn't find in the ARN list.

So, possibly not!

did the Vic roads thing as well with the (obviously) same result. I have shot off a PM to him asking for chassis number confirmation.

The ad says 65, but the vic roads report says 64. 2A shorties were 63 and 64 IIRC

Hi all,

Thanks for the "heads up" on the build dates. So what's the jury's decision ?

Army or Civie ?

Cheers,

And the next question, does either answer make it worth $15,000?

The wife probably said "it's GOTTA GO!" 'Yes dear" (he says begrudgingly) as he knowingly puts a price on it guaranteed not to sell  ;)

My opinion, it's a civilian L/Rover made to look like an S2A GS, the give away for me, is the front dumb irons are not extended, I can't see the rear (front rear mount) either but it has just had a lot of bolt on items put on it, just my threepence worth, any good enthusiast would pick it out quickly, the chassis number listed is not S2 C/R related either, cheers Dennis
