Hi  FFRMAN,

Been working on her slowly as time permits, she is now rust free, Has a new canopy frame and i have started on the body work ready for paint

I had to make up new radiator supports as the old ones were badly rusted.


lots of rust removal, I welded all new sheet steel back in its place


Ive repaired the floor pans and resealed with a bitumen sound deadner that also has an anti corrosion barrier


slowly stripping the paint from the bull bar in my make shift workshop


I have also completed welding up the new canopy support frame


I sprayed the load area with spray on tub liner

I have one of these beasts as well. It still has its original canvas top. Does any one know how they treated the canvas as it almost looks like its been painted?

the airforce in the 1980,s had a fleet of both short wheel based 40 and and cab chasis there is one that is used by charities fund at amb cab chasis  as a support veh for variety bash manned memo staff

Navy also had short and LWB (utes) civy cruisers in the 70s and 80s - all on Z plates.

does any one remember what happen to the fleet of cruisers that LSF bought in the early 90's to supplement the 110 they were a funny colour i  think they were camel. they were of the shelf buys and retrofitted with civvy cb radios and were troop carriers. at 10 term regt we had a couple for rhq

  very good work, an excellent result, congrats. How does it drive and where have you taken it so far?

she is still in the workshop. still working through the brakes and other things that need attending to. lots and lots of rubber seals around doors, windows ect.
I have a 2nd one and its been all over the place, from Queensland to Victoria. its been to corowa 4 times now. hoping to have both at the swim in next yr
