Army Land Cruiser Advertisement
« on: February 28, 2015, 01:21:46 PM »
Thiess Toyota advertisement, 1978.

The photo shows a Land Cruiser in it's proposed army spec. Of interest is the design of the brush bar. It appears to be a modified S3 brush bar with more rounded top corners. The bar is straight (as per S3) whereas the bumper has rearward returns at each end. You can see from the close up photo that the final production brush bars were designed specifically for the Land Cruiser bumper and headlight settings etc.

just looking at your add.  the Landcruisers that the army ended up getting all had the 2h 3980cc diesel engine and were the HJ47RV model.
they were supplied with a disc brake front end.
