What is "Rodum RAM"?
« on: April 30, 2014, 02:02:31 PM »
Does anyone have any idea what Rodum Ram is that is mentioned in the logbook for my new Perentie?
t's ex RAAF, so I'm thinking something to do with the RAAF, but I can't figure it.

from memory I believe a Rodum was a repair request. Or some sort of Fault report.  Don't know what the RAM is though.
The digits probably refer to the file number referring to the repair or fault requiring work to be done.

RODUM used to be report on defective or unsatisfactory materiel (yes - that's the correct spelling)

RAM = Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability

the ram could have also been repaired (rectified) at maintenance

the entries seem to indicate the regular services

You blokes obviously need to buy a copy of 'Aust Military Abbreviations, Acronyms and Codes' ..... (yes, shameless personal plug for my book...!)

Both are defined (as they have been above, too....)
