Can you add 110-866 59' Command recon to my "shed"?
Also my gun buggy was listed as 112-336 but it is 112-335.
I noticed that in the spread sheet there was a link to an AWM document, does that mean it's been to SVN?

Cliffy, should be all done now

Scott

Hi Scott - I've just bought 33-868 and it's on its way to Brisbane now. It's a 1981 series 3 FFT in reasonably original nick but the 2.6 is not running.

When I got it loaded in Sydney I only had time for a quick look but it had a radio in the back behind the passenger seat and a transverse seat behind the bulkhead and a

couple of singles loose on the floor. All blackout lights, garden tool mounts and airlift fittings were there as well as the red/white overhead light in the back.

Will post pics when it arrives.

Regards

Gary

Are you sure the thing behind the passenger is a "radio" or is it actually the 24V power distribution box that usually sits in that location?

Hi Diana

I only had a quick look - it had dials and knobs and looked about 18" X 18" and was mounted on the bulkhead behind the passenger seat - so it could be a Nazi deathray for all I know.
I'll take a photo when it gets here and hopefully I'll identify it then.

Hey Gary, did it look like this? if so it is the distribution box, and behind the passenger seat was the most common spot for it to be mounted.

Cheers

Hi Gary

Now you have to look at the RHS of the engine and see if the 100Amp 24V alternator is still present.  It is unusual if it is.

Thanks Diana - I'll look for it when it arrives. My father in law had a 24v Nissan Patrol in the early 80's - that car was bulletproof  - hopefully this one will be too eventually.

Hi gary

The SIII FFR are a dual voltage vehicle.  The vehicle system is 12V and a completely separate 24V powered the radio electrics.  This way the radio battery systems could be completely drained and the vehicle would still run, it also made vehicle spares and the selection of trailers easy because they could all be 12V.

There should be a 12V Lucas alternator high up on the RHS of the engine then a massive drum like 24V CAV alternator below it just above the engine mount.  The vehicle system will work with or without the 24V one.
