Taken at Clapham Junction Brisbane  returning from exercise kangaroo 81  16 AD REGT VEHICLES  being transferred from Qld small gauge rail to standard gauge for return to Adelaide. Clapham junction is between Ipswich rd. and Fairfield road at Moorooka

Question

Why did they stop using bridge plates ?

Thanks for posting that, its one of the originals that I also posted way back I have had 2  hard drives crashes since them and lost a lot of photos

Juddy.
   If you look hard you will see the bridge plate on the right hand side, Back in those days the figure of weight was not always painted on them In my day a driver had to know his bridge weight  and besides it was not a big issue with this type of smaller vehicle
