I certainly do not claim to know very much at all, but I doubt the authenticity of it, cheers Dennis

Not so sure of that Dennis :D. It looks like a unit level mod. Pretty basic in design and construction.

Although slightly similar in configuration, it's not LRPV as the SASR used a different design.  Apart from a single bolt for attachment to tub top capping, this mount has no restraint. The bracket/wheel would smack up against the side of the tub every time the vehicle drove over a decent bump. I suspect that the mounted wheel would be restrained at the bottom as shown on the Gunbuggy in the photo below.

It may be off a Gunbuggy  :-\.

Hi,

Found this on ebay, says side mount for spare tyre - LRPV?? not sure...

regards
Scott

interesting...   esp that photo Tommy... I havent seen many with that mod (side mounted tyre)  anyone recall seeing bolt holes or that lower bracket on the GB's theyve seen?
obviously though carraige of spares is a problem... on front bar = blast zone, rear = in zone again, on bonnet stops RCL from seating down ...
do we have any closeups of the rear "board" modifications seen on GB in SVN shots where boards are across rear opening with tyre mounted there?
or where they (as I suspect) just a "loose mount" (not actually bolted to vehicle)

I had a look at that too, and have come to the conclusion that it is a home made jobbie.
The one attachment bolt to the tub ridge capping is a bit of a worry and I cannot see a base workshop allowing that to pass. Certainly guaranteed to deplete your bank balance if ya screaming down the highway at 120 mph  ::)  and the damn thing suffers metal fatigue...... :'(
