having had the pleasure of helping Wayne both working and displaying these vehicles, It is good to see them out and in the public eye, It is a tribute to the owner that these vehicles have been saved from scrap and cherished for what they are.

1961 Series II Firefly

Does anyone else have wonky eyes like me and think these images of the Firefly make it appear as a 1/4 scale model in a gravel garden bed?  :-\   :-\

Diana, that's quite funny as it was exactly my first thought too, but obviously it's a real one, and a beauty at that!

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

thanks for sharing the photos, yours is an exceptionally special vehicle, do you intend to restore it to it's original configuration as when it was one of the IPV's , as per the photo on the booklet from Barefoot Dave?

cheers

Scott

I have all i48 005 military history collated and my intent is to restore it.

Its a very low km truck 83000km so mechanically sound but on the hunt for a survey hard top.

Diana - the firefly is real.

Ps - I also have an original 86" with rear pto and front capstan winch

Wayne.

Hi Wayne

Of course I know it's real, I remember the purchase negotiations and the possibility that I may pick it up and store it before you came over to the east.

I also remember what it looked like before you got your skilled hands on it.
