Australian Army soldier Signaller Quinten Manuel, from the 1st Combat Signal Regiment, cleans a Land Rover in Ormoc during Operation PHILIPPINES ASSIST. *** Local Caption *** Australian Defence Force personnel have completed their recovery assistance mission in Philippines and will return to Australia later this week. The ADF recovery mission officially ended yesterday (16 Dec 13) at a ceremony in Ormoc, Philippines, attended by Department of Foreign Affairs, Australian Army officers and the Ormoc Mayor. The ADF commitment included command and control elements from the Deployable Joint Forces Headquarters, Army Engineers from 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment, Amphibious ship HMAS Tobruk and Air Force C-130 and C-17 aircraft. An Australian Army Land Rover disembarks a landing craft onto a beach in Ormoc, Philippines, during Operation PHILIPPINES ASSIST. *** Local Caption *** On 26 Nov 13, HMAS Tobruk arrived in Ormoc Bay, Philippines carrying the Recovery Support Force (RSF) to commence support to Operation PHILIPPINES ASSIST. Operating as part of Joint Task Force 630, the RSF is largely based on elements from Townsville-based 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment. Royal Australian Navy clearance divers patrol through the Iraqi Port of Umm Qasr. This is the major Iraqi port on the Khawr Abd Allah waterway, and the point for most of Iraq's overseas trade.
The Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diving Team 3 have recently arrived in Umm Qasr.
They have joined Coalition divers in clearing the port of mines and other hazards in preparation for the arrival of humanitarian aid into Iraq by ship.

A convoy of vehicles from 7th Brigade arrive to provide assistance with the clean up effort in the flood-stricken Bundaberg area.

On 30 January 2013, elements of the Australian Army's 7th Brigade departed Brisbane and travelled by convoy to the flood affected region of Bundaberg in order to assist with Operation QLD FLOOD ASSIST II. The convoy, as part of the Joint Task Force(JTF) 637 was made up of over 40 vehicles and 200 personnel and is set to begin conducting recovery tasks within the area.
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is assisting an Emergency Management Queensland request for assistance to the widening flood situation in Queensland.
The ADF has stood up a JTF637 under the command of Brigadier Greg Bilton, Commander of the 7th Brigade based at Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera in South East Queensland.
