Jungle green webbing straps -wanted.
« on: December 23, 2013, 09:50:09 PM »
Now that we've identified the holes on my buggy I now need some webbing straps.

Tools Disposals in Wodonga, used to sell bunches of straps and I was able to acquire a couple but don't have sufficient even if I use both khaki and jungle green.

Does anyone have any of the jungle green webbing straps they would part with?  They are about 28" long.

Thanks but they are too short, only long enough to go around a shovel or pick handle.

I need at least 2 feet long for each strap, Tooles at Wodonga used to have hundreds of them selling in bunches of about 10, so hoping someone may have some spare.  If not I may have a source of webbing on the roll and can cut up old 36 pattern to get the buckles and tips.

A possible source of buckles and ends may be Lawrance Ordnance in Sydney.
They do repo P08 webbing and the buckles and ends would be the same size.
Might be worth a shot asking if they could supply a decent amount, or what a minimum quantity may be. I know I'll need some eventually so if a bulk order is needed it may be possible to split between members.

Thanks Nick,

I hadn't heard of that mob before, I'll check them out.

I'm not sure if there would be a large need as mine is the first vehicle we've found with the holes.

Its where I've gotten my uniform and spares from, they are great to deal with and eager to assist I've found.
I'd be after a few straps to tie up a new canvas on my S3 when its made, aswell as for my webbing, as the "utility straps" are a bloody rip off online but oh so handy to have extras of.
If needed they also have the large press snaps  which I got a supply of as spares a while ago.

There was a bloke selling them at a dollar each at the Swim in at Corowa last year at the swap meet.  I bought only what I needed.
My guess is he'll be there this year.

Another option: What about salvaging some straps off an old canopy?

Cheers,

Ian
