The jeep is certainly not 1942 as the auctioneers state ....... probably one of the "F" head engines by height of bonnet

Looks to me like a CJ3. factory? RHD too.  May have been one of the very few the Australian Army bought in the 1950's.

My Pre-auction estimate is $3000-$5500 but everyone knows that excited people at auctions bid higher than market prices.  A WWII Jeep fetched $8k the other day which was un-restored.  That's a lot IMO, but I am happy about the price

Still if it is, what it is, its a nice piece of history.

CJ-3B the CJ-3 had the low hood same as the MB.  Looking at the fittings, particularly the front blackout lamps, it looks like an M606.



Although being RHD it could be Mahindra or Mitsubishi manufacture.
