The first pic is of interest. These are the V100 Cadillac-Gage Armoured Car. Of interest to us because this type of vehicle donated the first armoured turret used on Australian M113 APCs. Later, we used the roomier T50 turret, but the Cadillac-Gage was very welcome at the time for the all-round protection it provided.

Sorry, 303, I think you have your turrets mixed:

The Cadiallac Gage T50 on the V100 (&V150?) was the second turret used on Australian M113A1, and it was the improved T50(Aust) turret specially made for Australia.

The first turret used was the Aircraft Armaments Incorporated Model 74C, designed to mount twin .30 cal MGs. Only 20 were purchased as an interim: their installation required no structural change to the M113A1, but replaced the standard CC's cupola. The T50(Aust) was the long term solution that did require structural change by way of a larger hole, concentric to the original CC cupola hole, being cut into the roof.

This is from a photo collection/memorial of MSGT Summerfield, USAF MP. He took a photo of this local curiosity -a Mini-gun bolted up to a Mutt (?) Experimental? Just for giggles? Who knows. Note the screwdriver. And the rough mount. And what looks to be an airtank. Can you imagine the tonnage and terminal velocity of the bricks that Command would drop on the heads of those responsible if this vehicle/weapon was stolen or captured?

Gerat photo of the Mutt, I would say it is a working gun because having been trained on this the screwdriver is essential for clearing stoppages due to the heat the gun generates, stopaged have to be cleared fast as a cook off is a really bad thing to have happen.

Having said that they are great to fire.
