The 6bys do love a good load !! Haha. I had 4.5 ton on the back of mine and she loved it!!

So the other day I took my “Babi Jindee” (RFSV) on a little excursion on the back of the mog to the “Brookton old time motor show”
Tona went along with us and a few other lads.

Love the door markings on your GMV. I think someone really gave that truck TLC.

Swapped the fuel tank changeover solenoid today for a new one on the 6x6. Whoever decided to use a solenoid with 3/8 ports but 5/16 fuel lines was a mong

G'day Geoff, it would be informative for all of us with the dual tank systems to let us know in what way did your pollak valve fail?

It is good that you had no trouble finding one (they're installed in a lot of the larger US utes).

It would be good too, from a co-operative point of view if you could let us know where you obtained one from.

Up till now they were most readily available from the importer: https://www.scintex.com.au/products/pollak-fuel-valve-switch

G'day dugite, I don't know exactly what failed on the solenoid. The fuel wasn't switching over so I checked and found the solenoid wasn't working. Then I checked it had power which it did and the voltage was reversing when I flicked the switch in the cab so I deduced that the valve was knackered. I got a new one from scintex.

Mine is working but leaking fuel out through the electrical connector. Fuel runs down the wiring loom and drips onto the floor. I don't want to change it until I have run both tanks low on fuel - could be very messy!

Hahaha yeah, I copped a bit of a diesel drenching and that was just what was in the lines. Mine was $227 delivered from scintex. Just remember to purge the lines after replacing it. Also it's probably easier to fit the 5/16 hose to the 3/8 ports while it's on the workbench and I needed to heat the hose up with hot water first.

GEOFF O35, I agree with that as well , but then again who would put an electrical component under the floor where it gets mud /water and all the other crap on it , why not put it inside somewhere, we won't mention anything electrical will we ,CHEERS TONA.
