I did away with sedimentors about 25 years ago, I have 2 CAV filters in their place, I also did away with the std filter up above the pump, replaced it with a CAV filter with glass bowl, perfect setup cheers Dennis
ps Make sure you have some spare plastic screw in bungs as they harden over the years, they don't leak until you screw it out, then you can't stop it from leaking LOL

If you do ever break your bung Dennis, just use a standard short 6mm bolt as a replacement with an appropriate sealing washer (until you get another plastic one if you want to keep it original)  :)

FFR 50-169 was just given a major service and a Ryco (as above) was fitted.

Well I remembered to do this that's a bonus

and from the top

my reason behind doing this was you can buy CAV type filters anywhere, but maybe not Isuzu, cheers Dennis :)

does a delphi cartridge fit the ryco and vice-versa?

Delphi -
Dimensions for the CAV filter assembly are
- overall height 175mm
- overall width 117mm
- overall depth 95mm
- mounting holes are 11.7mm ID on 49-54mm centres
- mounting pad is 73.5mm wide

can't find Ryco dimensions

My assumption is they would be the same and thus interchangable

;D  G/AY PAULAK ,YEAH finally took the starter out, stripped it and found it in good nick, cleaned it down ,repacked the  earrings and replaced it, all good, what had me worried is ,have seen photos of starters removed and they were full of bloody crud ,rust etc, might pay to pull yours and have a bo peep, they are not that hard to get out, if you decide to remove it ,it would pay to remove the breather before hand ,it will make it a bit easier for you ,cheers TONA.

Pointless, probably.
Unless you have two tanks. Or you are filtering two segments of a fuel line where there is the possibility of contamination between the two filters.
How do you propose to install the two filters?

Two connections on the left, two connections on the right, that is two circuits.
Don't know on the 4x4 but on the 6x6 there is a dual circuit fuel filter mounted on the motor. Anyone know it's internal circuit?
If you have two filters, you would typically have, say, a 10 micron first and a 5 micron second. It would be pointless having two 10 micron in series or a 5 micron first with a 10 micron second.

You need to understand what the problem is and if two filters are the solution otherwise we go down the track "If two is better than one, ten must be better than two". I've seen that.

303gunner and Mick had just convinced me not to bother with double filters for bio with their posts, FFRman is now trying to change my mind back to dual filters now,  I like the dual filters.   I'm confused maybe I will do one fuel tank each way and hedge my bets.

Mick  your comments make sense, I will likely stick with one filter, but it seems you are also saying I should only do one granny knot on my tarp not the current 35 and that cant be right.
