Today I started the process of reviving the paint on 48-666, more or less spraying over the existing paint, however due to Protec having no brown/tan at the time, that colour is original, handy as it was the least faded colour, the difference is enormous!

Depending on if you want a very nice Finnish, Use Wet and dry 800/1200 to take the surface layer off.  Of course if you have a Pwerentiei with very deep paint holes its going to need some sanding and maybe filling, if you have slight surface marks/scratches, a primer filler works a treat.

You should have no need to use etch primer as long as the top coat is still there.

And always use a mask when sanding this nasty paint..

On the topic of paint, i finally sorted out my hideous front guard!
Gave it the once over with the 1200 wet and dry and did it out of the can. Looks a bit strange without the scratches and paint fade- I'll have to go bush to sort that out. Real shame.

Thanks! Yeah it already had a 300tdi snorkel (and guard) that Ill be refitting once the paints properly dried and I've worked out how i want to run it. The old setup (as i bought it) rubbed a hole through a front brake line just under the master cylinder. Fun fun!

Had exactly the same problem, wire in the air intake hose rubbed a pin hole in the brake line. Next job is to rectify a high volt meter reading. Will buy a meter tomorrow and then will be looking at the battery, regulator on the alternator, and anything else google throws at me.
