G'Day Adam.
Sorry mate, just found this thread or I could have helped you a great deal earlier.
It seems you have discovered that your original nay-sayer was a little over enthusiastic.
Juddy and I used the same mobile Roadworthy service and found them to be great. Happily refer anyone in Brisbane to them. PM for details.
The most common experience has been that DoT simply confirm the chassis/ VIN/ engine numbers and seating capacity as per compliance plate.
Rule of thumb: stay away from the larger inspection stations, less chance of striking someone who know too little or has too much time available to cause you trouble.

Phoenix, perhaps we could create a register of inspection stations who are familiar with the vehicles to help new owners? Add a caveat emptor notice and it should be Kosher.
Kind Regards, Barefoot Dave.

Would it be too much to do individual State threads?
Or is that more appropriate for AULRO?
Just thinking that the thread could be going for the next 5 years.
also, how do we manage the potential/ Probable negative stories? ala GIC on AULRO.

book the veh in at the department of tpt inspection point at either darra or logan and ask the experts the requirement are

i have known people to have been given rwc at one centre and driven two hundred yards down the road and given an infringement notice because the veh wasnot roadworthy eventhough the ink hadnot dried.

Hi glbest

Thanks for the advice, the QLD Transport experts from Logan or darra. I will be sure to give them a go next time.

On that, I am increasingly of the opinion that we often dream up our own problems. Maybe these forums need to be a little more restricted and private? I am just thinking out loud here.

These problems are often so subjective and ambiguous, I would hate to think we are fuelling the fire by making these experiences available to everyone.

Maybe delete these threads after a short time? Let me know what you think.

If people read the whole thread they will see you didn't have as many problems as you thought you might, that can also help other new owners ;D

probably one thread for all, and they can be collated into the first post and altered as needed.
