Not really Diana. The simple interface works on the basis that a twisted pair connects to the screw terminals for remote comms. So using an 8 to 600 ohm transformer gives a match between the speaker output from the fm radio and the remote pair input.
The same thing works with Larkspur gear or any system that has a connection for remote comms by twisted pair.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but Geoff won't mind.

If we were to use your 8 to 600ohm transformer as an interface onto the IB2 to input the extension speaker from a CB radio we could have the CB receive audio through one earpiece of the headset and then simply use the CB mic if we wanted to transmit?

Would make the interface much simpler than trying to interface a CB directly into the harness.

Correct. There is a design developed be George Bell in the UK for a full interface but it is quite complex.

Well after a lot of swearing and cursing bevel box is changed over now to fix all the small things we found along the way.

this is the old bevel the previous owner had been using grease not oil in the bevels and hubs, less than a cup of grease

While its all apart I have cleaned all the grease nipples and oiled the suspension pins will have to do the other 3 corners now  ;D most of the nipples had been painted over the pressure release on the old bevel had been replaced with a new style grease nipple some one probably didn't know what it was checked the other bevel boxes they still had release valves but all covered in several layers of paint :( the PO had said they changed to grease because of all the oil leaks :-\

I've really enjoyed reading your threads and looking at the photos Geoff, what a great vehicle to have. What year model would your Ferret be, I'm guessing early 60's.

Thanks for sharing it.
