Scammell (Leyland) Contractor bonnet & grill wanted
« on: July 16, 2013, 09:18:43 PM »
Looking for the bonnet and grill (and radiator) panels from a Scammell Contractor.

Other parts wanted:
Hood orniment/lamp
Tropical roof
Rear mudguards
Tool box covers (below doors)

Noel P's image from the REMLR site.

The truck was supplied with other items to be picked up but they seem to have been scrapped by the previous owner.

In fact if you know of a contractor being wrecked the contact details would be appreciated.    PM me with details and I'll pass the info on.

I have a source who can get you most of what you need, yes its in the UK, and yes its not going to be cheap, but better than waiting another 30 years for a item to turn up, if your quick it could even go in my container... let me know..

Hi Juddy

In regards to the bonnet radiator surround, grill, tropical roof, radiator, Scammell sign and light my mate would be interested in some prices if thats possible.

You may be aware that at least the first and possibly the second trials vehicle the sign said "Scammell" the rest of the vehicles supplied to the Australian Army the sign said "Leyland".  AFAIK the Israeli Army were the only other customer (outside Australia) who were delivered Leyland contractors.  The Egyption Army received Scammells.

My mate would prefer the sign branded "Scammell".

Thanks mate!  :)

Leyland /Scammell same truck... Just a different badge.....

I will be seeing my uncle in a few weeks he's got a yard full of Scammells, he might have some bits...or know a man who does.

Thatks Juddy

Those enquiries would be great.

Just be aware there are two styles of Contractor, some with split screens and others with a single screen.  The bonnets look similar and may even be the same but my mate's is the single screen type if it makes a difference.  Your Dad will likely know if he knows about Scammells.

I hear you're bringing in some LT85s?  I'm definately interested, do you know which bellhousing and what transfer box ratio?
