101 FC Amb

Any love for the Ambulances?
I just looked over a 101 in a photobucket album:

Its for sale on the 101 club forum at AUD9k.

For those prices, its no wonder 101s are being imported. About 10 years back they were double that and more weren't they? Am I right, the prices are down a whole lot?

The ambos are cumbersome, fat and heavy but do make a good overland exhibition vehicle.  Values for Aussie 101 GS maintain their value pretty well and do not seem to be affected by lower price Brit imports.  If you are going to modify a 101 the the Brit version is the one to do it on as there were only 50 Aussie 101s and a lot less now remain and every effort should be made to save them.

The Aussie Army had about the same number of Haflingers and now there is only 16 confirmed examples left so probably only 20 max.  I would hate the same to happen to the 101s.

Maybe its down to the price of fuel in England. Who knows. I do remember a 101 import back about 2002 (whole family emigrated here) where the price of 15k was quoted as an asset on a mortgage application or similar. I remember that it was thought a bargain price.

Its not bad this one, 9k is a good price too, landed for 20k time you have done...

101 ambulances are not that popular in the UK, due to the fact you cant do a lot with them, GS are more popular is there a all rounder.

However they are rarer than the GS, and as such can fetch more money.  Or sit around for months waiting for the right buyer..

Transport costs and customs/washing costs a load of money!
