As the seller says "It is supposed to be an ex-military car" but not sure.

Anyway, it may be of interest to someone.

He's not going to try to sell it as that.
Difficult to tell. It is obviously missing all the relevant data plates.
A late model Californian only commands mid to high teens. He's way off the mark.

Hi Mick_Marsh, you're the guru on Mokes!! (compliment), what are the army fitments that are not standard that a Moke would have had??

it's got a jerry can holder but that could be fitted anytime, if it had the data plates he'd know it was army.

thanks
Scott

ps, no I'm not moving into Mokes............12 Land Rovers are enough, almost.
Lots...............

I dunno, moke values have been on the up and up of late!

Could be an army one, and I'd love to have it, but I am at least 1, probably 2 zeros off the mark :(

I can find no match for it on my moke list, but that is incomplete (although I do have some updated information).  Would make a good replica though, but not at 20k

I must finish that page about army mokes and the differences.

There are few differences at all, some handgrips on the rar wheel arches, extra switches on the dash.  no jerry can holder on army units.  Towball on army units as well as front and rear tac plate holders.  I'll dig out the article from the mini experience that is as near to a bible for these vehicles as we have.

Document holders on wiper mechanism shroud.
12 pin trailer plug.
Voltmeter in instrument binicle.
I'm not that up with the ex-mil ones but I know people who are.

I do know a little about civvy ones and the current market.

If anyone wants to swap a civvy Moke for a Perentie, let me know.

I found this info on The Moke Forum. It shows the same Moke prior to restoration.

Military or not? ???

Doesn't show much.
From the position of the choke cable on the instrument binnacle, it's a civvy instrument binnacle.
If it was ex-army, I'd say all the army stuff has long gone.

A pic of an ex-army dash and trailer plug attached

The boys on the moke forum don't seem to think it is an army one, and I can tell you that they are the moke experts, especially terry.

They did, although i'm told with a couple of Handlers and dogs on board they struggled a bit.  I believe the ones that they used were army ones though.

More that I heard that they were pretty heavily laden with boxes, some big dogs, and some big blokes on board!

Don't forget that the Navy (and the then Department of Defence (Navy)) also had quite a few Mokes.
