archive.org has a stack of US manuals archived for this and a range of other radio's of US descent.  Worth a look!

Sorry for returning to this thread after so long.

In relation to the shock mounts.  The mounts for the MT-1029 are too lightweight for use with a 106, the radio (as you know) is very heavy with a high centre of gravity.  I know someone who used the mounts from a MT-1029 on a 106 and they came adrift and the 106 crashed to the floor of his vehicle.

I do know that Jon Parker has bins of shock mounts when he goes to swap meets including some very large ones.  He is usually at Corowa Swim-In, the Menangle Steam Museum open day, Kanungra etc.  Or you can sometimes find him on eBay with a name something like Jon Parker SC.

When using one of the mounts I would be tempted drill some large holes through the console deck and then use much longer bolts than necessary from the top, add a washer larger than your big hole in the deck and then place a nylock nut at the end of the bolt.  Make sure the washer has a few mm of clearance below the console deck.  This way the bolt and washer shouldn't impede the operation of the shock mount, but it the mount fails the set will be stopped from toppling over by the big washer coming up on the underside of the console deck.

At least that's the plan.

BTW I got the a MT-3140 from Fair Radio in the US.
