Hi Tommy,

for the cynics out there this will be an honest auction and will guage the real price for 2A's.

Real price? In what context would that be?

Fundamental economic laws of supply and demand.

This post is not for that discussion, this one is

http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?topic=347.0

and as you can tell it is a circular argument that just keeps going around and around.

regards
Scott

Good score! ;D

Not sure about the posting on ebay argument, if you want a fair auction don't post a reserve. 8)

Nice Unit.
For the record
Winning bidder paid $4555.00
on 08 August 2012.
Series IIA SWB Unrestored, Auction, Ebay.
Chassis No 24305711B, original motor 25170017F ARN 113-693
Genuine - 1964 Series 2A 88" SWB ARMY Land Rover
(The keywords for future searches)

I have only just bought this and the reason I am selling it is because the bloke I bought it off had two and said if you want to buy one you have to buy both, I don't need both so here it is!

This Land Rover is in excellent condition and has been shedded all it's life since leaving the army, the bloke I got it off bought it off the army.

It is still very original

Chassis No 24305711B and still with original motor 25170017F  ARN 113-693

It has all the army fitments except missing 3 x TAC plate holder (you can buy these on ebay), and the Bridge weight plate.

Everything in working order, lights/blinkers/horn/high beam all working, wiring harness looks very good and not dry and brittle at all. Engine runs OK.

The Chassis is very solid and no rust at all.

At the moment the radiator is out as it apparently has a leak and he was going to fix it but obviously didn't. The clutch will need bleeding. Can't see anything else that will need much attention.

It does not come with the hoop set, as he had a hard top on it (if you want the hard top talk to me). The door tops have a couple of small rust spots bubbling through in the usual places.

The pintle hook has been taken off and not with the vehicle.

I do have an old army canvas canopy that could be bought back to life, the roof needs some repairs or replace with new canvas but the sides and rear are good.

These are a very hard to find model, if you know army Land Rovers you will appreciate they don't come up for sale very often. There is nothing hidden here this is a very solid vehicle with a known history and does not need restoration but just a tidy up to bring back to full army spec.

Any questions please message me. Available for inspection by appointment.

On 30-Jul-12 at 19:14:17 AEST, seller added the following information:

Although the photos don't show it there is a full set of seats in great condition, green vinyl with no rips.

The radiator is still with the vehicle just not fitted.

There is a 5th wheel that is not shown in photos

On 06-Aug-12 at 14:09:02 AEST, seller added the following information:

I've had a good look over vehicle this weekend (as I haven't had it for long) and everything is still as described except the brakes will need bleeding to bring up peddle pressure.

Still a great vehicle for restring back to original Army condition

Did a REMLR or Forum Person win it?
