Hi All,
First and foremost, a huge thank you to all you members who so generously gave your time, advice and help on my hunt to to finally acquire a S2a SWB ! I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated your support - and I am deeply grateful to you all.
When I wrote my first post about wanting to acquire either an existing restored 2a SWB, or have someone restore one for me ( and be able to start work on it immediately, of course ! ) , I had absolutely no idea just how rare and sought after this vehicle actually was - and how naive I must have sounded......... but rather depressingly though, you all soon put me right on that score - and early April found me seriously starting to consider taking up bowls instead ....
Completely unexpectedly therefore - but this is God's country, after all - I am very pleased to say that, out of the blue - and entirely due to the generosity of Pat ( REMLR member 'VIXEN" ) - that Milly and I are now the proud new owners of 'Castrol", her wonderfully restored '64 S2a SWB ( the full pictorial restoration of which has featured previously on this site ). Castrol arrived in Melbourne this week, but it is only now, and merely having driven her to and from her roadworthy test ( which she sailed through ) , registration etc etc, that I am beginning to fully appreciate how very difficult it really was for Pat to part with her. So thank you again, Pat. X
In the meantime, my very best wishes and thanks once again to you all !
Mark .
