Bandiana Fire Station 1973

Photos show two Land Rover S2A Fire Tenders at the newly built Fire Station at Bandiana, 1973.

After cross referencing the REMLR ARN Fire Tender page, I believe the two Fire Tenders are 112-181 and 116-939.

If you look closely at 112-181, the bins have rounded tops. 116-939 does not. It then begs the question, when were the tops upgraded?

Also of interest are the fire extinguishers on the front of each tender. 112 has taller 'red' (same colour as tender) extinguishers whilst 116 has fatter 'yellow' (I presume) extinguishers. Were the yellow extinguishers for a different use or were they simply upgraded 'red' units?

It may be a colour coding system, like on ships.
The red was plain water, red with a black band was CO2, red with a white band was dry powder, plain blue was foam and yellow was BCF (Bromoclorofluroethane, I think, now banned.)

There was only one or two flat top fire tenders built didn't we work out?  Still, some excellent refefence photos.  do we know where they came from so as to include the correct copyright information?
